The Progress...

Our little house, or bootka, will sit just behind where we are standing...the plan is to build a small apartment style home now and then build our house in a few years (when we know what we want). Once we build our house the bootka will be used as a game room for pool table, darts, air-hockey, etc. and also serve as a guest room for family/friends when we have visitors.

Brainstorming
What you are looking at will one day be our front porch. Our future home will sit behind these Oak trees. The bootka will sit back and to the left of our house.

Shane worked hard all weekend...it definitely payed off, wow! After clearing for months the land is looking better than ever. This weekend helped us tremendously get the land ready for building. The plan is to first drill the well and get electricity up-and-running...then we will be able to pour the slab. The anticipation of planning the wedding and building our life is killing us :) We are so blessed to have each other, our wonderful families, great friends, this land, and such a promising future ahead of us. We are quickly realizing that these next (five+) months will be very busy in preparation for all the changes to come! In the past few weeks wedding plans have started to pick up the pace...invitations, dresses, cakes, save-the-dates (soon to come;), etc...but a priest at a wedding last week said something that I thought was kinda cool, he said...
Remember through this time that you are engaged that you are not planning for your wedding, but for your marriage. He went on to say that...a wedding is one day, but marriage is a sacrament that is forever.
I love preparing for marriage. Everything in life is better now that I have Shane to share it with. Love is a beautiful thing.
